Pyramid Atlantic Workshops

Patty Lee is the Bookbinding Associate at Pyramid Atlantic and has her own bookbinding business called BookWyrms Art. Mainly self-taught, she has also taken classes at the Corcoran School of Art and at Pyramid Atlantic. She has participated in numerous local juried art fairs in the last five years, where she has displayed her handmade journals and book art.

Marty Ittner is Creative Director at m-Art, an award-winning graphic design studio in Takoma Park. Her clients include National Geographic, Washington National Opera and the Smithsonian Institution. Ms. Ittner received her design degree from American University and has continued study in screen printing at the School of Visual Arts and the Corcoran School of Art and Design. She has worked at Pyramid Atlantic as a designer, artist and teacher for over 10 years.

Irma Alba, a printmaker and artisan, lives in Mt. Rainier, MD. She has a space in Red Dirt Studios in Mt. Rainier, MD, and has been a part of their studios since August 2008. Irma was an intern for Pyramid Atlantic in the summer of 2007. She took her first sewing course in 2002 and has been hooked ever since.

Moira McCauley founded Bookish Lady, a bookbinding and letterpress company, in 2003. She has been producing custom letterpress work and providing instruction in letterpress at Pyramid Atlantic since 2008, and she also works as a freelance editor.

Graphic Designer Nancy Bratton holds a BFA in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2004, Nancy started her own firm, which continues to produce invitations, books, posters, logos, brochures, and exhibits for cultural institutions, publishers, and nonprofit organizations. Her delicate design style and thoughtful typography is well-suited to letterpress design.

In addition to being Pyramid Atlantic’s Volunteer Coordinator, Jonah Beram works as a private digital media tutor. He has experience in computer graphics, screen printing, letterpress, and solar plate etching.

Sabeth Jackson, a printmaker and painter, lives in Washington D.C. Sabeth has been the Evening Studio Manager at Pyramid Atlantic since Sept. 2008 and also works for Class Acts Arts as a Program Manager for Project Youth ArtReach.

Rebecca Katz grew up in Baltimore. She received her BA in Art History from Duke University and her MFA degree in Printmaking from California College of the Arts. Her work was recently shown at the Rosenberg Gallery at Goucher College. She is currently a Screen Printing Associate at Pyramid Atlantic.

Beth Parthum is the Papermaking Associate at Pyramid Atlantic. She came to the organization as a volunteer, and became a member of the artistic staff in 2008.
